Introducing the First-Ever Steel City Rolling King Contest!

Think you’ve got the skills to roll like a pro? Now’s your chance to prove it! The Steel City Cannabis Convention is proud to present the inaugural Steel City Rolling King Contest, happening May 24th & 25th, 2025, at the Monroeville Convention Center in Monroeville, Pennsylvania.

Contest Overview:

• Dates: Saturday, May 24th, and Sunday, May 25th, 2025
• Location: Steel City Cannabis Convention at the Monroeville Convention Center, Monroeville, PA
• Eligibility: Open to individuals aged 18 and older
• Entry Fee: $20.00
• Participant Limit: 200 contestants (100 per day)

Competition Structure:

Day One (Saturday):

• Heats 1-5: Five heats of 20 contestants each.
• Top 3 from each heat advance to Heat 6.
• Heat 6: The top 3 contestants from each heat (total 15) compete for the top 3 spots.
• Top 3 from Heat 6 move on to the finals on Day Two.

Day Two (Sunday):

• Heats 1-5: Same structure as Day 1 with 20 contestants per heat.
• Top 3 from each heat advance to Heat 6.
• Heat 6: The top 3 contestants from each heat (total 15) compete for the top 3 spots.
• Top 3 from Heat 6 move on to the Grand Finale.
• Grand Finale (3:30 PM): The top 3 from Day 1 face off against the top 3 from Day 2 in Heat 7. The winner of Heat 7 will be crowned the Steel City Rolling King and awarded the Grand Prize. There will also be 5 Runners-Up awarded prizes.

Rules for the Contest:

• One Roll, One Person: All rolls must be made by a single participant. No combined efforts are allowed.
• Materials Provided: Each participant will receive up to 3.5 grams of flower and one booklet of rolling papers, which we will supply.
• Time Limit: Each heat is limited to 5 minutes. You have 5 minutes to make your creation, so roll fast and roll well!

Judging Criteria:

• Speed: Fastest Roll – How quickly can you craft a quality joint?
• Precision: Neatest Roll – Show off your attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Creativity: Most Unique Roll – Impress the judges with innovative and artistic designs.

Judging Panel:

• Tim McBride – The Saltwater Cowboy, a true cannabis industry legend.
• Benjamin Bartlett & Jeff Homan – Creators of the “Toking with the Dead” comic series and hosts of the “Still Toking” podcast.

Special Guest Appearance:

Steel City Stoner Girls: These lovely ladies will be in the house, adding some extra glam to the contest! They’ll be mingling with contestants, helping out with the fun, and ensuring the contest stays high-energy and fabulous throughout the weekend.

Prizes: (over 1-lb being given away!!)

• Grand Prize: Valued at over $500.
• Runners-Up: Five additional prizes awarded.
• Participant Gift Bags: All contestants receive a gift bag valued at $40, including a limited edition Rolling King T-Shirt ($25 value).
• Total Prize Pool: Over $8,000 in prizes distributed over the two days.

• Sunday, May 25th: 2:00 PM
• Grand Finale: Sunday at 3:30 PM
